Minta Bell Design Group is a team of professionals dedicated to providing finely crafted, stylish and practical interiors to our clients and community.
"Interior design is the process by which we develop and maintain our surroundings. At Minta Bell Design Group, our specialty is developing comfortable and sophisticated interiors for busy people.
Gathering design elements from all periods and using them in one space is both challenging and exciting - whether it is in the purity in form of an ancient Chinese pot, the quiet elegance of an eighteenth century mahogany chest, or the clarity of line in a steel and glass table. Living with them and enjoying the aspects of each; this is the excitement of contemporary design."
Minta has always believed that interior design should be an interactive and fun experience. "From the beginning, we encourage our clients to be involved in the design process and to share their dreams with us. This relationship involves a remarkable evolution and effusion of ideas between our staff and the homeowners. We work so closely with them that at the end of the project, they don't know what ideas were theirs and what were ours. During our discussions, we listen and gain a genuine understanding of how they live and what they want their house to do for them and then we guide them through the process." The ultimate outcome is a signature look for each of their clients.
Minta Bell founded Minta Bell Interior Design in 1971, eventually changing to Minta Bell Design Group to better encompass the spirit of her organization. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with a B.S.H.E. in interior design, and is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
Amy Jeffries, ASID
Amy began her career designing workplaces for some of Research Triangle Park’s biggest companies. While challenging in the sense of scale, Amy decided to pursue the more creative specialization of Residential Design. Amy joined Minta Bell Design Group in 2003.
Amy brings to each project a strong intuitive sense of how a space will be perceived. She works hard to communicate the elements that will influence the final design so that clients will understand the reasoning, both conceptual and concrete, for decisions impacting their spaces. Amy also has an uncommon understanding of project management, gained through her work in commercial interiors.
Amy Jeffries, Associate Interior Designer, concentrated in interior design at the University of Michigan and is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). She is a professional member of ASID and is currently serving as the Continuing Education Chair.
Beverly Harn, Design Coordinator
Beverly comes to Minta Bell Design Group with a multitude of talents and experience from her previous careers in the legal field as well as a flight attendant for Midway Airlines. Beverly does much of the initial project research and is called upon often to be the “memory” for the group. Joining Minta Bell Design in 2001, she is the go-to gal for research, project management, and the daily function of the office. She has affectionately been called "the nicest rabid dog I know” by one of our furniture line reps. Beverly handles any production and manufacturing issues, scheduling, manages subcontractors and vendors, tracks all the orders and keeps the manufacturers on task.
Beverly Harn is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science/Public Administration.
